FULL TILT RIDERS
Portland, OR - Parent Chapter

Mission: The Full Tilt Mission is to build a strong and positive brother and sisterhood of people who share a passion for motorcycle riding. Their mission is to project a positive and safety conscious image of riders to the community at large. They are also dedicated to providing community service activities in urban areas and fostering an atmosphere of camaraderie between all communities.

Founded in Portland, OR in December 2003, Full Tilt Riders (FTR) has grown to include several chapters across the nation. Heavy in members with military and law enforcement backgrounds, FTR is quite appealing to those looking to project a positive image and who want to stay out of trouble. The Seattle chapter considers itself a “’Tweener” club – not a big outlaw, cruiser or old school club, but instead one that simply wants to ride safely and get to work on Monday. They want to do their part to drop the hard core biker image and still have fun.

As FTR continues to grow, the various chapter founders all spent months of research before deciding to start their chapter. Beemo* took 3 months of researching various clubs while in Germany before deciding to start a new chapter in Waynesville/St. Roberts, MO. He valued what they stood for and felt that FTR truly stuck out among the others. Seattle Chapter President, Oak CD, appreciated the discipline and military vibe and knew FTR was serious about its commitment to the community. He also valued FTR’s valid attempts at new things. Even when FTR was new, they could get 200 bikes out on 2 Wheel Tuesdays wanting to see where FTR was.

Portland members of FTR participate in the city’s annual Good in the Neighborhood Parade, a multicultural music and food festival designed to promote the cultural aspects of the north/northeast portion of the city. Proceeds from the event support the NE Coalition of Neighborhood’s community based programs to help empower low income and at-risk residents. Other community service events that members across various FTR chapters embrace include adopt-a-highway programs, adopt-a-family for the Holidays and charity basketball tournaments. Additionally, the Seattle chapter worked with the local police department to develop a safety riding course. Other chapters host bike and car washes, support the St. Mary’s Home for Boys as well as their local Boys & Girls Clubs.

During the winter and frequent rainy months in the northwest, there is not a lot of time for riding, so FTR plans lots of other activities to stay connected. They have pool tournaments, just started a bowling tournament and do lots of go-karting and other year-round/indoor activities. When the weather is nice though, FTR can be seen canyon cutting, or enjoying the twisties of the winding roads and hills in their area.

FTR allows anyone to ride with them, whether they are a new or independent biker. No matter the color, creed or bike, everyone is treated the same and feels welcomed. Looking for quality, not quantity, FTR prides itself on its diverse membership and ability to quickly span the nation with various chapters.
