Total Parade Route: 45 miles to MLK JR. Memorial - Washington, DC
Parade Route:
Departure: 10:00am
Charles Cty Fairground to Route 301 North – Turn Right onto Route 301 North
to the light at Route 225 West – Turn left onto Route 225 West (4.2 miles).
Continue Route 225 over to Route 210 (Indianhead Hwy 11.8 miles). At the light
light turn right onto Route 210 Indianhead Hwy going North – (4th Lite –
Camera) Continue Route 210 thru 7 lights to the light at Fort Washington Rd
(14.8 miles) – Turn left at the light and go one block – Turn Right onto
Livingston Rd to Harley Davidson of Washington parking lot. Take a break
before the parade continues.

11:30am – Parade Safety Briefing & Line Up Bikes
12:00 Noon – Follow the procession back out to Indianhead Hwy turning left at
the light – Pick up the entrance of Route 295 North headed towards Washington,
DC – Continue Route 295 to Route 395 South (Exit 4) over the bridge. After
rounding the bridge to 395 get into 3rd Lane. Follow to the sign that says Main
Avenue. Stay in last far left lane and follow Main Ave to the light at Ohio Drive (2
miles). Turn left at the light on Ohio Drive, follow Ohio Drive and turn left at
West Basin Drive and find a spot to park or go to Lot A or B.
We will meet in the
field adjacent to the MLK Jr. Memorial site.
Traffic Control Plan:
All participants will receive a safety briefing 30 minutes before the parade
departure. All participants will be briefed that the State of Maryland and
Washington, DC requires a helmet to be worn at all times, protective eyewear and
protective clothing.
Each motorcyclist will be instructed to ride in a staggered
formation. To minimize impact on the faster moving vehicles our procession will
drive in the left hand lane, execute proper lane change(s), adhere to all local
speed limits and a handout of the route will be provided to each participant.
We will assign Road Captains wearing the proper safety gear that will provide
assistance with the orderly formation and safety of the parade as well as work
with the local and state police department.
In the event that a motorcycle should
incur a mechanical problem, we will assign a breakdown vehicle to follow the
procession and render roadside assistance or call (301-893-2900).
1. Marked police vehicle to the lead the procession
2. Marked police unit to cover the rear of the procession
3. Marked police vehicles to block the major traffic intersections along the
route.
4. Road Captains will be in place along the route to assist & provide direction
