With her second novel, “First Fridays”, in bookstores now, Cherlyn Michaels, is already working on novel number three set for release in 2008. Cherlyn started writing in 2002 and self-published her first novel, “Counting Raindrops Through a Stained Glass Window” in 2004. In September 2005, Hyperion Books signed Cherlyn as one of their newest authors and re-published her first book.
Cherlyn, or 2Spicy as she is known within the motorcycle community, is a new member of the St. Louis chapter of the # 1 Stunnas who hosted a book release party on her behalf at Mack’s Sports Bar & Grill in St. Louis, which is owned by the St. Lunatics. She has received support from many members of the 19 chapters of the #1 Stunnas Motorsports Club. While on her book signing tour in Cincinnati, OH, Frank Netti, the President of the Cincinnati # 1 Stunnas chapter and members attended and showed their support by purchasing many of her books at the signing and throughout their #1 Stunna/ALLSTAR MC Event Weekend.
Cherlyn is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She has attended numerous Delta conferences and participated in their literary café with other Delta authors. In addition to her efforts with the #1 Stunnas and the Deltas, Cherlyn is also very dedicated to the St. Louis Writer’s Studio which is a non-profit agency designed to help kids 8 – 18 in creative writing. They are currently in the process of writing an anthology with students of University City and of the Career Academy College Bound program. With the anthology, the students get to contribute their writings and then see their name in print for the finished, published project, which will have an introduction by the St. Louis Rams player, Isaac Bruce.
Having always wanted to ride a motorcycle, now that she has her first bike, Cherlyn also has aspirations to increase her riding skills to compete in some form of racing in future years. She appreciates the camaraderie the motorcycle community has and even incorporates her love for riding in her books. In her first novel, the couple that was featured in the story were avid motorcycle riders. Her third novel which is still in process, is about an all female motorcycle club, so stay tuned…
